This 1985 Mercedes-Benz was purchased new for European delivery by its current owner, who reportedly had it converted to his desired #1000SEL specification by Brabus when new. The base car was a #500SEL equipped with a 5.0-liter #M117 #V8 backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission. The car is finished in black over a black leather interior and equipped with 16″ BBS wheels featuring color-keyed centers and brushed lips. The “1000SEL” appellation was applied to #W126 models modified per the owners’ wishes by a variety of tuners and coachbuilders in the period. This example equipped with slim European-market bumpers and aerodynamic headlights with wipers and washers. An aftermarket body kit features valance and rocker extensions. Brabus and 1000SEL badges are affixed to the trunk lid. Black-centered 16″ BBS wheels with polished lips are fitted with Yokohama ES100 tires measuring 225/50 at the front and 245/45 at the rear.
